*Words of Affirmation

*Quality Time

In the vernacular of Quality Time, nothing says, “I love you,” like full, undivided attention. Being there for this type of person is critical, but really being there—with the TV off, fork and knife down, and all chores and tasks on standby—makes your significant other feel truly special and loved. Distractions, postponed dates, or the failure to listen can be especially hurtful.

*Receiving Gifts

Don’t mistake this love language for materialism; the receiver of gifts thrives on the love, thoughtfulness, and effort behind the gift. If you speak this language, the perfect gift or gesture shows that you are known, you are cared for, and you are prized above whatever was sacrificed to bring the gift to you. A missed birthday, anniversary, or a hasty, thoughtless gift would be disastrous—so would the absence of everyday gestures.

*Acts of Service

Can vacuuming the floors really be an expression of love? Absolutely! Anything you do to ease the burden of responsibilities weighing on an “Acts of Service” person will speak volumes. The words he or she most want to hear: “Let me do that for you.” Laziness, broken commitments, and making more work for them tell speakers of this language their feelings don’t matter.

*Physical Touch

This language isn’t all about the bedroom. A person whose primary language is Physical Touch is, not surprisingly, very touchy. Hugs, pats on the back, holding hands, and thoughtful touches on the arm, shoulder, or face—they can all be ways to show excitement, concern, care, and love. Physical presence and accessibility are crucial, while neglect or abuse can be unforgivable and destructive.

Footprints

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed
he was walking along the beach with the LORD.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand: one belonging
to him, and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.

He noticed that many times along the path of
his life there was only one set of footprints.

He also noticed that it happened at the very
lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he
questioned the LORD about it:

"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow
you, you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when
I needed you most you would leave me."

The LORD replied:
"My son, my precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

Bagaimana kita mengasihi dengan sepenuhnya?

Mengasihi sepenuhnya, it takes everything!

Matius 6:21 -> dimana hartamu berada, disitulah hatimu.

Kejadian 4:2-7 -> Habel memberikan yang terbaik

2 korintus 8:7-8

Kamu bisa memberi tanpa mengasihi tapi kamu tidak bisa mengasihi tanpa memberi.

Ada 2 kategori pemberi -> - cheerful giver dan fearful giver (banyak alasan dalam memberi).

Belajar untuk mengasihi Tuhan dengan memberi yang terbaik!

1 yohanes 3:1->Tuhan memberikan kasihNya sepenuhnya. Bisa gak hari ini kita berikan yang terbaik untuk Tuhan, bukan sisanya?

Putuskan untuk memberikan yang terbaik untuk Tuhan!!!

1. Berikan segenap hati kita

2. Berikan segenap jiwa kita lukas 1:35-38

3. Berikan segenap pikiran kita 2 kor 10:4-5 (menawan dan menaklukkannya pada Kristus) roma 8:5-8 (cara untuk menaklukkan pikiran hanya ada2 pilihan, yaitu saya mau dikontrol oleh kedagingan saya atau oleh roh?? Kalo kedagingan adalah perseteruan terhadap Allah tp kalo dipimpin oleh Roh “Everything is possible”!)

SUKACITA

Kita pasti mengalami hal yang mencuri sukacita kita.

Filipi 2:12 Sukacita : ada ketaatan, Kerjakan keselamatan.

Kadang kita melakukan segala sesuatu/taat karena ada keharusan disana, misalnya ada orang yang menyuruh kita utk bersukacita.

Berbicara tentang ketaatan bukan karena ada sesuatu disana/orang yang suruh tapi karena keinginan kita untuk tetap mengerjakan keselamatan.

Tanya pada diri kita : saya ingin bersukacita di dalam Tuhan karena ingin apa??

Menjalani hidup sebagai Kristen karena bersungut-sungut atau dengan kerelaan?

Bagaimanan sikap kita menjalani hidup kita sebagai Kristen?

Jemaat filipi diajarkan untuk tidak bersungut-sungut dan berbantah-bantahan.

Bagaimana untuk bersukacita senantiasa?

1. Hendaklah kebaikan hatimu diketahui semua orang (Tidak munafik) apapun kondisi kita.

2. Jangan kuatir! Seberapapun kuatirnya kita tetap berdoa dan nyatakan keinginan/kekuatiran kita di dalam Dia.

Orang yang gampang bersukacita biasanya adalah orang yang selalu bersyukur akan hidupnya.

3. Untuk bisa bersukacita, kita harus memikirkan apa yang baik, benar, mulia, yang adil, yang suci, yang manis, yang sedap didengar, yang disebut kebajikan dan patut dipuji.

Filipi 2:17-18

Sekalipun paulus harus melakukan hal yang tidak diduga, apapun itu, dia tetap bersukacita dan dia mengajak untuk semuanya bersukacita.

Orang yang bersukacita layaknya paulus, dia tidak hidup sendiri tp dia berbagi untuk saudara-saudarinya.

Mengasihi… Memperbaiki hubungan yg retak

Allah ingin agar kita menghargai hubungan dan berupaya untuk memeliharanya dan bukan menolaknya ketika ada keretakan, sakit hati, atau konflik. sebetulnya, Alkitab mengajar bahwa Allah telah memberikan kepada kita pelayanan untuk memulihkan hubungan.

saya belajar bahwa saya harus hidup rukun satu sama lain. saya harus belajar untuk menjadi pembawa damai.

bagaimana memulihkan suatu hubungan :

* berbicara kepada Allah sebelum berbicara kepada orang tersebut

berdoalah

* selalu mengambil inisiatif

ambil langkah pertama, jangan menunggu pihak lainny. hampirilah mereka terlebih dahulu.

* bersimpati terhadap persaaan-perasaan mereka

* akui peranan anda dalam konflik

* seranglah masalahnya, bukan orangnya

* utamakan rekomsilias, bukan resolusi

ayoooo semangat mengasihi!!!

saya harus mengasihi mengasihi dan mengasihi… :))

INTEGRITAS

TITUS 2:6 demikian juga orang-orang muda; nasihatilah mereka supaya mereka menguasai diri dalam segala hal.

ada 2 keinginan : 1. dari Tuhan 2. dari iblis

yohanes 8:44-47 apakah sebagai anak muda yang saya lakukan sesuai dengan Firman Tuhan atau tidak?

apakah saya mempunyai integritas?

2 korintus 7:10-11 apa integritas saya? dukacita yang menurut Allah atau dunia?

adakah perjuangan saya melawan yang tidak baik sehingga saya tidak jatuh?

buatlah perjuangan untuk tidak terjatuh. setiap dari kita mampu MENANG menghadapi diri kita sendiri yang dipengaruhi iblis. kita bisa lebih dari kondisi kita saat ini. kita bisa menjadikan karakter kita lebih menjadi serupa dengan kristus.

roma 6:12-14 saya lebih mengenal siapa disi saya, integritas harus saya pertahankan didalam hidup saya.

I am a disciple of Christ

I am part of the fellowship of the unashamed.

I have Holy Spirit power. The die has been cast. I have stepped over the line. The decision has been made. I am a disciple of Christ. I will not look back, let up, slow down, back away or be still.

My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, and my future is secure. I am finished and done with low living, sight-walking, small planning, colorless dreams, tame visions, worldly talking, chintzy giving, and dwarfed goals.

I no longer need preeminence, prosperity, position, promotions or popularity. I do not need to be right, first, tops, recognized, praised, regarded, or rewarded. I now live by faith, lean on His presence, walk by patience, am uplifted by prayer, and labor by power.

My face is set, my gait is fast, and my goal is heaven. My road is narrow, my way is rough, my Guide reliable, my mission clear. I cannot by bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, deluded or delayed. I will not flinch in the face or sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I won’t give up, shut up, let up or slow up until I have preached up, prayed up, paid up, stored up and stayed up for the cause of Christ.

I am a disciple of Christ. I will go until He comes, give until I drop, preach all I know and work until He stops me. And when He comes, He comes to claim His own. He will have no problem recognizing me for my colors are clear. I AM A DISCIPLE OF CHRIST.

Berlombalah!

Hidup ini adalah perlombaan. untuk bisa menang dalam pertandingan kita harus tau dulu bagaimana memulainya.

2 korintus 5:17 Jadi siapa yang ada di dalam Kristus, ia adalah ciptaan baru: yang lama sudah berlalu, sesungguhnya yang baru sudah datang.

- ketika kita sudah tinggalkan hidup kita yang lama itu adalah startnya.

efesus 2:8 Sebab karena kasih karunia kamu diselamatkan oleh iman; itu bukan hasil usahamu, tetapi pemberian Allah,

kasih karunia Tuhan bekerja melalui iman kita.

saya berada dikerajaan Allah adalah baru titik awal saya berkarier disini.

didalam kerajaan Allah kita bertanding untuk bertumbuh, berbuah, menjadi rohani,dll.

1timotius 6:12 Bertandinglah dalam pertandingan iman yang benar dan rebutlah hidup yang kekal. Untuk itulah engkau telah dipanggil dan telah engkau ikrarkan ikrar yang benar di depan banyak saksi

kita harus bertolong2an dalam pertandingan ini.

efesus 5:16 pergunakanlah waktu yang ada, karena hari-hari ini adalah jahat.

God loves us because he loves us

In a sermon on John 3:16 (“God so loved, that he gave…”), Puritan Thomas Manton makes the following point on God’s indescribable love towards sinners in sending His Son:

“Love is at the bottom of all. We may give a reason of other things, but we cannot give a reason of his love, God showed his wisdom, power, justice, and holiness in our redemption by Christ. If you ask, Why he made so much ado about a worthless creature, raised out of the dust of the ground at first, and had now disordered himself, and could be of no use to him? We have an answer at hand, Because he loved us. If you continue to ask, But why did he love us? We have no other answer but because he loved us; for beyond the first rise of things we cannot go. And the same reason is given by Moses, Deuteronomy 7:7-8: ‘The Lord did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because you were more in number than any people, for ye were the fewest of all people; but because the Lord loved you…’ That is, in short, he loved you because he loved you. All came from his free and undeserved mercy; higher we cannot go in seeking after the causes of what is done for our salvation.”
